I was out hunting down the 2 goats that had wandered into next door (lucky they don't mind), when I noticed these monarch's seemed to be attracted to the debris on the ground near the concrete holding one of the stumps of the house. Why? Would they still be there when I got back with the camera? Took a few shots of one from the retaining wall then went down to it's level. Two then landed fairly close together and I wondered, would they both open their wings simultanously? and could I get the shot if they did?. Number 3 flew into the shot right on queue.
